Ingredients
15red dates
15walnuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉/180℃.
Spread out the walnuts on the baking sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes until golden brown and smell nutty.
With a small sharp knife, slice down lengthwise into the center of the red date. Be careful not to cut all the way through the date. Cut the flesh around the pit with knife and pull it out by tugging on it with your fingers. Repeat this step with the remaining dates.
Remove the walnuts from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Lower the oven temperature to 300℉/150℃.
After the walnuts are cool enough to handle, put the flat side of the walnuts inside the pitted red dates. Put them back on the baking pan and bake for 5 minutes.
Allow them to cool completely before serving.
Notes
If your walnuts are smaller than the red dates, you can put 2 walnuts in 1 red date.
