Banana oat Smoothie is a perfect all-in-one breakfast on the go and a great source of fiber and protein to keep you satisfied and energized for a longer period of time.
This week, my sister was in the mood for Banana Oat Smoothie and told me to make one. This recipe is the perfect all-in-one breakfast on the go for those who do not have the time in the mornings to throw a breakfast. Banana Oat Smoothie is thick and creamy with the flavor of banana shining. More importantly, the added banana adds a hint of sweetness which is why there is no need to add sugar to this recipe. This Banana Oat Smoothie is a delicious and healthy way to start your day. It offers a great source of fiber and protein to keep you satisfied and energized for a longer period of time.
Tips on Making Banana Oat Smoothie
All you need is 5 minutes to throw everything together, blend, and take this right away.
1. Turn it into a cold treat
Sometimes, I forget my bananas sitting on the counter until they are spotted and totally turned soft. Hence, freezing bananas are a great way to keep them ready all time for smoothies and baking, since they will not ripen further once frozen. Frozen bananas are great when you are in the mood for icy cold smoothies in warm weather.
In my opinion, the best way to freeze bananas is to peel, cut them into small chunks, and wrap them in plastic wrap. This keeps them nice and fresh without getting freezer burn while sitting in your freezer. You can use them once you need them to make smoothies. Pretty convenient, right?
2. Adjust the sweetness
Bananas are the secret to making your banana smoothie naturally sweet. Choose bananas that are fully ripe, or even slightly overripe. The riper the bananas, the sweeter they will be. You can also add honey to make the smoothie sweeter although it is not needed as the smoothie is already sweet enough.
3. Adjust the thickness
For a creamier smoothie, I recommend using thicker yogurt like Greek yogurt. Meanwhile, if you fancy a thinner smoothie, add more milk. You can also add more bananas for a creamier smoothie, just note that there will be more sugar content for the more bananas you add.
