Celebrating First Anniversary

Time flies very fast and today finally marks the first anniversary of Jaja Bakes. It actually took years before I was brave enough to start blogging. Starting a blog for the first time was an amazing, yet intimidating experience. Thinking that people are actually going to read or even share something you wrote. It was unlike any other feeling I could describe.

I love cooking, but I want to challenge myself to try something new everyday. I set myself the task of writing at least a post for a week because I still have my corporate job. Now that I have been doing this for a year, I have published 86 recipes and hopefully many more for the following years.

Making Jaja Bakes is not all about rainbows and butterflies. A year ago, I had zero idea how to run a blog. Starting a blog is a hard work, especially if it is your first time. Once I had my blog figured out, then came even bigger problem like I need to learn photography, food styling, how to write, and so on. People do not understand the effort that goes behind the scenes for each and every recipe post. It takes some trial and error, research, and a lot of reading to realize the importance of how to make a good blog.

In short, blogging has changed my life in ways I could not ever have imagined during this one year and I must say I could not be happier. In fact, if you compare my first post vs the recent ones, you could get a picture of my learning phase and the journey so far. For now, I am still struggling how to improve my food styling and photography editing. Hopefully everything will be figured out during the next year of blogging.

I want to express my sincerest thank you to all of those who have been following me since I started making Jaja Bakes. Hopefully you will all continue to keep an eye out on my social feeds and blog for some food inspiration.
